March 27, 2024 Our group and community had a great day today! Handsadi and Prof. Shepherd published their work on Chiroptical Strain Sensors from Electrospun Cadmium Sulfide Quantum-Dot Fibers in ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces with their collaborators Thomas Ugras, Kirt Page, Tobias Hanrath, and Richard Robinson. Professor Shepherd and Fiber Science graduate student, Dorota Szlek, delved into the wonderful world of fibers and textiles with Watkins Glen Middle School students visiting Cornell for career exploration.

| October 2023 Larissa Shepherd and Fran Kozen recieve Cotton Incorporated grant to teach about cotton production. Students will run a Blue Jeans Go Green Campus Campaign and collect Cotton T-shirts for a yarn bombing activity on campus to raise awareness of cotton, cotton production, and sustainability. In addtion students will go on a trip during Spring break to see cotton production processes in action! |
